Jewelry Design as a question

As a jewelry designer I solve problems and ask questions.

What is Jewelry and what is Design.

I have read this beautiful qoet by Wim Gill, saying that : a designer must have a radar on his head.

Thimo te Duits, interview with Wim Crouwel, January 2003.

I have to agree, a designer looks at things from many points of view. As a creator, a consumer, a developer and a producer. This combination, of many parameters from different disciplines, meets in one cration, an object, a jewel.

Designing jewelry is working with the human body, considering shapes and materials. To solve design problems you have to make many decisions. What color to use what shape to create, using a certain technology or hand manufactor, also how to combine diffrent materials together, like pure gold and precious stones or maybe a fish that was dried in salt and a piece of metal. The large verity of posobile varietions can make it hard to choose. At that time of the progress comes in the creativety, experiment and experience.

I would like to share some of the things that inspire me and my work, some of them are  part of me and some I like to pick up, and learn at time. Air and movment, simetrical and asimetrical shapes. Unperfection mackes it all perfect for me. Words and feelings, color and texture, hardnes, softnes and flexabilety, old and new. I love smart and simple things, that feels great on the body. Also im inspired by traveling the world and meeting new people and new places.

Here you can find some of my work from the time I studied jewelry design B.Des at Shenkar college of engineering and design and some of my works are from the past years  and various projects at the masters program M. Des at Shenkar college, 2005 - 2013.
